As a frequent visitor to the beautiful rural town of Mudgee, NSW, I am privileged to be able to roam a vast 250 acre property which is undoubtedly my second home.

Some days I find myself studying the landscape, questioning the elements that make it uniquely Australian.

In the height of summer there is an atmosphere that rises from the horizon and blends upwards to a magnificent Jacaranda Blue. The air is still, the sky is cloudless. A lonely gum, a scrubby bush or two, rolling hills and a carpet of pale dry grass.

There is a profound sense of peace that washes over me as I take it all in.
